Savory and Succulent: The Apple-Infused Brine for Your Best Turkey Yet

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of Revolution Barbecue Brid Brine

  • 12-14 pound fresh or previously frozen turkey giblets removed

  • 1 64 oz bottle of un-spiced apple cider

  • 1/2 gallon 8 cups cold water

  • 1 Large Brine Bag

Directions

  1. Set Up the Brine Bag: Place a large brine bag inside a stock pot large enough to hold your turkey. Fold the edges of the bag over the sides of the pot to keep it stable.

  2. Mix the Brine: Pour 1 cup of the apple cider into the brine bag. Next, pour the contents of Revolution Barbecue Bird Brine into the bottle of apple cider and shake vigorously to combine. Then, pour this brine mixture into the bag.

  3. Add the Turkey and Water: Place the turkey in the brine bag with the breast side down. Pour the cold water over the bird until it is fully covered. Seal the bag tightly, ensuring the turkey is completely submerged, and refrigerate for 1 hour per pound.

  4. Rinse and Dry: Remove the turkey from the brine and rinse it thoroughly with cold water. Pat it dry with paper towels, then place it back in the fridge, uncovered, to air dry for 30 minutes per pound. This helps achieve a crisp skin when cooking.

  5. Cook and Enjoy: Remove the turkey from the refrigerator, cook it to your preferred method, slice, and enjoy the rich, apple-cider-infused flavor!
